We provide you HAZWOPER safety training tips that cover the essential tips to keep the whole process safe.

HAZWOPER Training Required: The transportation of hazardous materials is so dangerous that everything must be carefully planned, treated, packed and so on, to avoid any leak or reaction of the chemicals. According to the DOT regulations, there is a board requirement for every aspect of hazardous chemical transportation, which includes training for employees, packaging and shipping. Safety training is required for employees who:
  • Handle, load, unload and prepare for transport or pack the hazardous materials.
  • Choose, classify, test, recondition or mark the containers as fit for transportation.
  • Prepare the shipping documents for hazardous materials or provide information about them.
  • Operate transport vehicles for shipping the hazardous materials.

Basically there are a few levels of required training:

  • A general awareness and familiarization training for all employees covered.
  • A function-specific training for each employee.
  • A safety training which specifies about the hazards, protections and precautions for the workers handling or transporting the hazardous materials.
  • A special safety training for the drivers who are carrying the hazardous materials.
  • A security training for the workers.
In the HAZWOPER training program, participants can learn a complete step by step process of transporting hazardous materials plus, they will receive the certificate of completion as well.
